VW campervan hire Bickerton Poacher

A perfect local getaway. The Poacher is right on The Sandstone Trail and it’s hosts offer an often forgotten warmth and hospitality which clearly demonstrates what being a professional publican is all about.

You can access The Bickerton Poacher Route and all it’s features here:

Description
Campervans and tents, no big statics. Tourers normally remain on the car park too.

Family friendly, fabulous pitches hidden away from the main road and the car park. A perfect getaway site that is really close by.

The Poacher has remained open during lockdown, serving its community as a takeaway and a local shop and we expect this will continue if the camp site can re-open ahead of the pub itself.

There is a childrens play area but this may remain closed until R is very low. No matter, we provide you with games in the campervan so children will have ample to keep themselves amused!
Amenities
Electric hook up available
Toilet block
Shower Block (and it's free!)
Shop

Things to do nearby

For those of you who like a walk as well a good view The Sandstone Trail is a stones throw from the campsite. The campsite is pretty much on the half way line of The Sandstone Trail so you can walk either the North or the South end. Only the keenest of walkers are likely to make it all the way to either end and back again in a day so perhaps think about getting organised with a second vehicle.

Beeston Castle
A five to 10 minute drive from the camp site stands Beeston Castle.
A great day out for children and adults alike. Again, it’s steep climb, but with every climb you are rewarded with a spectacular view! The kids can search for dragons all the way up. It’s a ruin so your visit is entirely outdoors so fingers crossed this attraction will re-open sooner rather than later.
Chester Zoo
If the Bickerton Poacher camp site is open we also hope also that
Chester Zoo will also be open! Even if it’s not check out their Facebook Page as they’ve been doing some amazing lives during lockdown that are worth a watch too. If the zoo has been able to open it’s gates then book tickets at least a day ahead to save a few quid!

Hales Board and Bike Park
For the more adventurous amongst you Hales Board and Bike Park offer Mountain Boarding lessons – you’ll need to check they are doing lessons depending on Covid Alert Level but families and youngsters alike with love it here.
The Boneyeard skate park
Any serious skateboarders amongst you will also have heard of
The Boneyeard skate park just outside the village of Tattenhall. Again, check they are open to visitors before bobbing in – though it’s crazy just watching the regulars!
