Situated on the West side of the Lake District and Scafell, this area of Lakeland recieves more sun and less rain than it's neighbours in the East. This fantastic Campsite is one of the best in the UK for Children of all ages.
You can make this trip as long or as short as you like, or perhaps part of a route.
Fisherground Eskdale campsite has the Peace and Tranquility that you dream of and would hope for in abundence unlike some of the better known Lake District destinations on the other side of the Hills.

Description
Campervans and tents, no big statics or tourers. Family friendly with some lovely private pitches.
A perfect getaway site that doesn’t feel like a car park. Campfires in provided fire pits are allowed but please supervise children at all times.
The Adventure Playground is a childs dream, with rafts on the pond, a tree house, a zip wire, Tarzan ropes, and an adventure course.

Ravenglass & Eskdale Railway
Travel from Ravenglass on the coast across the estuary and through the hills with a 1:40 gradient at times to the final destination seven miles up the line at Dalegarth for Boot Station.
